Amy's School News!

As most of you know i started school back in April at Paul Mitchell in Boise. Well i love the cosmetology program and (not to toot my own horn am pretty good at what i do lol) As time went on there i was really starting to hate it there..Paul Mitchell is a good school but as time went on i realized it wasn't the school for me. So I made a big decision and..

I SWITCHED SCHOOLS

to

I mad the choice to change to a school that is much closer to home and it is more of my style, and i feel it was the best decision i could have made for me. I am now attending Velvet Touch Academy of Cosmetology. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it there. I feel like i will get a much better education here with the variety of things that they teach. Plus i really like being able to learn and use more then just one product line. I get to do More extensive facials, pedicures with reflexology, eyelashes, nails plus much much more. This December we did a Winter Fashion show. I am so excited cause this was a whole new experience for me. My Group chose to do the theme Christmas Angels and i was one of the stylists in charge of hair. Each group had up to 4 models and we started at 2pm and had to be done by 6:30 in time for the Show to start at 7. We had to do hair, nails, make up, wardrobe, music and special effects. it was alot of work but worth every minute.

On Adri's hair i did Knots all down the sides and then moved it into a Cascade of Curls. She had so much hair it took me about 1 hour to do her hair and most of that was just curling it. Nickole did her make up but we also added highlights to her hair to give it some color.

Halloween 2010

This year for Halloween Ceilee decided she wanted to be a Kitty and Mitchell was Spiderman by no surprise to any of us. They had a blast carving pumpkins with Ben's sister and her Family. and Now that Mitch is getting older he really had fun and it didn't take him long to figure out that people would give him candy.. I love my Babies

Australian Pink Floyd

This month we got the privilege of seeing Australian Pink Floyd. Ben has seen them many times but for me this was a first. I was a little hesitant at first since i have never really been huge into Pink Floyd. When we heard they were coming we decided to get a ticket for Ben's Mom. I remember when her and i went to Idaho City for Dayton's Baseball game and she was telling me about when she saw Pink Floyd at the Egyptian Theater in Boise back in 1975, she told me all about her experience and how she really felt the music so we thought it would be a perfect surprise, so we bought the tickets. The day of the concert we went a picked up Merri Jo and to our surprise she was ready to go and out the door before we could even turn off the car :). So we let her pick where to eat and she was so excited she left it to us so we decided to go to Busters in Eagle. We had such a great time at dinner talking and Laughing. Then it was time to head to the concert.

We had such a great time at dinner talking and Laughing. Then it was time to head to the concert. This was a first for us all even Ben cause he had never gone to a concert with his mom and this was the first time the band did a concert at an outdoor venue. We pulled in Parked and headed up to the gate. As we approached there were people checking ID before you got to the gate so we all got our wristbands so we could get something to drink once we got in. We got there at a perfect time cause as we walked in it wasn't really that busy yet so we were pretty close to the stage.  we layed our blanket out and then Ben and Merri Jo went to get us some drinks. And about the time they got back we sat and talked and sipped on our Margarita's while we waited for the concert to start.

When it started there was not "HELLO CHICAGO" type of welcoming to let you know they were ready.. they just started.. and it was amazing to me how everyone just stopped talking and watched in awww. If you know anything about Pink Floyd shows they have an amazing laser light show. so i was a little worried cause it wasn't quite dark yet. but it didn't take long. This one one moment i wouldn't have missed for a life time. I had such an amazing time with Ben and His mom. We were all relaxed and could just be ourselves. I feel like that moment was one where she truly saw me for who I am, and i can't wait to make more memories like this one with these 2 important people in my life.

Our summer with the kids

This summer we took the kids camping for the first time.. and they are in love. We started with our first camp trip to Silver Creek Plunge with our friend Jake Eberhardt and his 3 kids(Claire, Cassie, and Colin) and we also brought our nephew Dayton with us.. so we had a total of 6 kids and they had a blast!!  It was an obvious choice for me since i can remember many camping trips with my family there when growing up. They fished, and payed, and shot the BB guns, and Swam and as always we brought our fur babies Saidie and Bear and they were in heaven..

As summer went on we spend a lot of time up in the mountains. the kids favorite place to camp is up on Little Roaring Lake up in the Trinity Mountains. We found this spot one night when Ben and I were looking for a place to park our tent. :) the spot we originally wanted was all full so we just kept driving and some how in the dark found our perfect spot. The kids now beg to go to the Trinities. They love the lake where they spend the day fishing and catching frogs.
